Sensational alternative rock artists A Perfect Circle and The Beta Machine are bringing their signature sounds to the BB&T Pavilion!
A Perfect Circle was formed in Los Angeles in 1999 by guitarist Billy Howerdel and vocalist Maynard James Keenan (of alternative metal band Tool). They recruited Paz Lenchantin on bass, Troy Van Leeuwen on guitar, and Tim Alexander on drums to complete the band’s line up and played their first show at LA's Viper Club Reception shortly thereafter. The band’s been through many line up changes over the years and it currently consists of Maynard (lead vocals), Billy Howerdel (lead guitar and backing vocals), James Iha (rhythm guitar, keyboard, and backing vocals), Matt McJunkins (bass and backing vocals), and Jeff Friedl (drums and percussion). Their musical style can be best described as a blend of alternative metal, progressive metal, progressive rock, hard rock, and art rock (a subgenre of rock music that generally reflects a challenging or avant-garde approach to rock, and is often distinguished by the use of electronic effects and easy listening textures far removed from the propulsive rhythms of early rock). They’ve had a stellar career with 3 studio albums, 2 compilation albums, 1 video album, 10 music videos, 1 extended play, and 9 singles.
