MMR*B*Q, the all star concert featuring Alice In Chains, Ghost B.C., Stone Temple Pilots, and Dorothy is coming to the BB&T Pavilion!
Alice in Chains was formed in Seattle in 1987 and is currently composed of Jerry Cantrell (lead guitar, vocals), William DuVall (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Mike Inez (bass, backing vocals), and Sean Kinney (drums, percussion). Although mainstream media categorizes them as a grunge band, Jerry considers it to primarily be a heavy metal act. He told Guitar World magazine, “We're a lot of different things ... I don't quite know what the mixture is, but there's definitely metal, blues, rock and roll, maybe a touch of punk. The metal part will never leave, and I never want it to”. They’ve had a stellar career with 5 studio albums, 3 EPs, 2 live albums, 5 compilation albums, 30 music videos, 4 video albums, and 28 singles. Some of their songs have also been featured on soundtracks of many video games (Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Madden NFL 10) and films (Last Action Hero, Terminator Salvation, Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie, Singles). They’ve received numerous accolades including an MTV Video Music Award, an American Music Award nomination, and 9 Grammy Award nominations. The band has sold 14 million albums in the United States and around 35 million worldwide.
